Learn more about our Chevy Certified Service Center in Ankeny
It's my first time at KCCSE, what do I do?
For just an oil change you would pull into the Express Lanes on the far right hand side of the Certified Service Express facility. The three bays to the left of the Express bays are for tire rotates and balances. We ask that you always pull your vehicle into a lane when you arrive to insure that you have a place. Once you are in a lane, a greeter will come out and ask for the services you would like, get the vehicle information, and put a tag on the window. They will also ask if you are on the Tires for Life program or any other maintenance program, if you have ever been to Karl Chevrolet before, and if you have any coupons or gift certificates. Once the greeter is finished you are welcome to wait in your vehicle or our customer lounge.
What services are provided at KCCSE?
Karl Chevrolet Certified Service Express provides basic services such as oil changes, tire rotations, balances, repairs and replacements along with wheel alignments. Minor services also provided include bulb replacements and air filter and wiper blade replacements. We also perform a multi-point vehicle inspection including tire pressure, tread depth and brake measurements (if applicable), fluid top-offs, visual inspection of the vehicle and battery testing. Customers also receive a complimentary car wash with every service visit.
How long can I expect to wait?
For the rotate and balance lanes, the time estimate is about 35 minutes per vehicle. In the express lanes the estimated time is about 15-20 minutes per vehicle. Also, vehicles coming in for tire appointments should allow up to two hours to mount and balance four tires, alignments can be put into this two hour time frame upon customer requests.
Can I make an appointment?
Certified Service Express operates on a first come first served basis. The only time we would accept an appointment would be for tire replacements and alignments. Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest days of the week at for our Certified Service Express. You are more than welcome to call (515) 299-4461 to check on current wait times. Please remember that wait times are subject to change.Â
If time is a concern, you may also make an appointment with the service department in advance. The phone number for the service department is (515) 299-4402.
May I leave my vehicle and pick it up later?
You are more than welcome to drop off your vehicle at our Certified Service Express facility. All we ask is that you please leave a phone number with the greeter at the time of write up for any questions that we may have or to contact you when the vehicle is finished. We do also have a shuttle service available upon request that will give customers a ride anywhere in the Metro area. If you return before your services are finished and had left a phone number, please let us know that you have returned to avoid any confusion.
Am I required to wait in my vehicle during my service?
A customer may stay in their vehicle with the exception of the tire center bays. Customers on the express lane side are encouraged to stay in their vehicles to keep services moving. You are also welcome to wait in our Certified Service Express customer lounge.
Why do some bays move more quickly?
Bays differ in wait time depending on the services a customer is requesting. Time estimates for a service are also subject to change depending on the replacement of items on your vehicle or those in front of you.
Why was my vehicle pulled outside of the bay?
A vehicle is generally pulled outside of the bay if it is finished to keep the services behind you going. The advisor should be in shortly after this to go over the inspection sheet and start the cash out process. Another reason the vehicle may be pulled outside could be because the advisors and technicians are waiting on a part. In this case an advisor will inform you as to what is going on.
What are the requirements for the tires for life program, and am I able to take care of them at the KCCSE?
