2009 Corvette Event
On a picture perfect fall evening the 2009 Karl Chevrolet Corvette Event saw over 500 guests arrive to enjoy an evening of fabulous food, Corvette talk and over 300 Corvettes to check out from one of the very first Corvettes produced to the new Karl Kustom Corvettes, including the brand new ’63 Split-Window model being produced along with the Karl Kustom ’67 Roadsters. Dana Forrester, the nationally recognized Corvette Artist was at the event to share his passion for Corvettes and how it all began. Pre-registered guests in attendance were eligible for a drawing for one of Dana’s Commissioned Paintings. The winner will work personally with Dana to create a totally customized image of their Corvette with a background of choice behind it. A lifelong treasure for any home or office. The theme for this year’s event was Route 66. Todd Lee, Corvette Product Expert was on board to give a brief history of the Corvette and did a walk around presentation of the 2010 Grand Sport Corvette. Several episodes of the TV Series: Route 66 were running in the Karl Chevrolet Theater all evening long for those guests wanting to take a break after strolling through all the Corvettes on the lot and getting their fill of food and refreshment. Karl Chevrolet hosted a Central Iowa Corvette Caravan Sendoff Breakfast, Tuesday, September 1, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM. We had a picture perfect morning to show these Corvette Aficionados a good time. We welcomed guests in eleven Corvettes ranging in years from a 1975 T Top to some great looking late models. Two Corvette Clubs were well represented. The Cyclone Corvette Club and the Sioux City Corvette Club. Hy-Vee catered the event with all the fixings including scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage, a variety of bakery goods with coffee, juice and water. If anyone left hungry it was their own fault. Breakfast hit the spot and the corvette conversation was great. Carl Moyer was on hand to welcome these guests and wish them the best on their trek to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. This group met up with the other Corvette Caravaners coming from the Midwest Region in Bloomington, IL later on Tuesday afternoon in preparation for the final descent into National Corvette Museum Wednesday.
